Replacement Tank Sensors for Solar Hot Water Systems
The tank sensor measures the temperature of stored water and tells the controller whether it's worth running the pump. When it drifts or fails, the system either stops circulating when it should, or keeps circulating and pushes heat back out through the collector overnight.

Tank sensors are shorter than roof sensors but just as system-specific.
