Recommended Replacement
The Senztek SolaStat-Plus 1-2 Controller is the recommended replacement for Hills Apollo Exceed systems. It has a digital display, which makes ongoing fault finding far easier.
The sensors must be replaced at the same time as the controller. The Senztek controller is supplied with both:
- 1 x 20m roof sensor
- 1 x 2.5m tank sensor
- Free thermal heat paste for roof sensor installation
Senztek controllers come pre-programmed with all leads and plugs fitted for easy plug and play use.

Technical Reference
The Hills Solar Apollo Exceed (approximately 2011–2012) used a Full Gauge Microsol Ri controller, supplied as a controller only without sensors.
The Microsol Ri has also been discontinued. Where a system is still running one, its parameters must be set to suit either evacuated tube or flat panel collectors at installation by a licensed tradesperson. The manufacturer’s values are published here: Full Gauge Microsol Ri Manual (PDF)
