Genuine Rheem solar controller kit, part number 299293. The complete circulation pack for a ground-mounted Loline split solar system — collectors on the roof, tank at ground level, and this is everything that moves water between them.
Supplied factory-sealed by Rheem. Also suits the equivalent Vulcan, Aquamax and Solahart ground-mounted systems.
Read this first — non-frost version
The N/FROST in Rheem's part name means non-frost. This kit is for areas that do not get freezing conditions.
Frost-prone installations need the frost-protected version, which uses a differently programmed controller — Rheem's electronically frost-protected Loline controller is part 052081. Fitting a non-frost kit where it freezes risks splitting the collectors.
If you are anywhere that sees frost, or you are not certain, contact us before ordering.
What is in the box

- 126619 — Installation instructions × 1
Sensors are NOT included
The kit contains no sensors. The control unit works by comparing a hot (collector) sensor against a cold (tank) sensor — both are ordered separately.
Replace both at the same time as the control unit. A new controller reading through tired sensors is the most common reason a repaired system still underperforms, and it is a false economy on a job this size. Contact us and we will supply the correct pair for your system.
Electrical requirements
- Control unit is supplied with a 1.8 metre power cord
- Requires a 220–240 V a.c. 50 Hz general purpose outlet
- The GPO must be on a continuous supply from a circuit other than the water heater circuit
- The GPO must be weatherproof if installed outdoors
Worth checking before the van arrives — on a lot of older installations that separate outlet does not exist yet and an electrician is needed.
Non-return valve — August 2018 change
Control unit 052295, introduced into kit 299293 in August 2018, has a non-return valve built in at the inlet to the circulator.
Where this control unit is fitted, the non-return valve on the cold water line to the tank — after the cold water branch to a temperature limiting device — is not required to be a dual check valve type. On systems built before that change, it is. Check which control unit is on the tank before specifying the cold water valve.
Fitting notes
- The control unit mounts on the side of the storage tank, above and offset from the solar cold water outlet
- Suits tanks with a raised cold water inlet
- There is no adjustment to make on the control unit — it arrives programmed
When you need this kit
- Pump seized, noisy or not running
- Controller dead, or not driving the circulator
- Collectors staying hot while the tank stays cold
- Several components failing at once on an older system, where replacing the pack costs less than chasing faults
Before you order
Send us the model number from your tank data plate. Loline systems changed over the years and this kit is specific to the tank size and to the frost configuration — two minutes checking saves returning a $795 kit.
