This Product Has Been Discontinued
The 2.5m Roof Sensor to suit the Endless Solar DHWC Solar Controller has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase.
This page has been retained to help customers identify this sensor and to provide technical reference information.
Do You Need This Sensor, Or The Senztek One?
Endless Solar hot water systems used more than one type of roof sensor. Some used the DHW solar controller shown below, and others used Senztek controllers. If your controller does not look like the image below, you most likely need the Senztek 20m Roof Sensor, which is still available.
Not sure which you have? Email sales@solarhotwaterparts.com.au with a photo of your controller and we will confirm which sensor you need.
Technical Reference
If you are replacing a roof sensor, check the circulating pump at the same time. A pump motor that runs is not proof that water is circulating, and poor circulation will damage a new roof sensor.
Roof sensors must be made from high temperature silicone cable. Tank sensors are normally PVC and rated to around 90°C, whereas roof sensors are rated two to three times higher — the two are not interchangeable.
Not all sensors are the same. Manufacturers changed controllers several times over the years, and the thermistor inside each sensor gives a different resistance curve. The controller uses that reading to calculate the differentials that switch the circulating pump, so a mismatched sensor will not operate correctly.

The image above shows the original sensor type supplied with this system.
