An 1800 W / 240 V Incoloy 800 straight element for bolt-on hot water tanks, supplied with its gasket.
This is the straight version, not the sickle. A straight element runs its full length into the cylinder, so the tank needs the depth to take it. If your old element is curved back on itself, order the sickle instead — we stock the same wattages in both shapes.
Incoloy 800 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy. It resists scaling and corrosion far better than copper, which makes it the right choice on hard water, bore water, or anywhere elements have been failing early.

Why Incoloy over copper
Copper is the standard fit and is fine on most mains water. Incoloy costs more but lasts much longer where the water is hard or aggressive — scale builds on the sheath, insulates it, drives the sheath temperature up, and a copper element eventually fails. Incoloy tolerates that far better.
Fitting notes
- Always fit a new gasket. Re-using the old one is the most common cause of a leak after an element change.
- Clean the flange face back to bare metal and clear any calcification before bolting up.
- Do not over-tighten — pull the bolts up evenly in a cross pattern.
Will it fit my tank?
Measure the length of your existing element and check there is clearance for a straight one. Send us a photo of the old element and the tank data plate and we will confirm it before you order.
