4800 W is the highest of the common ratings and is normally used in larger tanks on off-peak or controlled-load tariffs, where the tank has to recover its full volume overnight.

Why the 120 rating matters
Watt density is how much heat the element pushes through each square metre of its surface. At 120 kW/m² this element spreads its 4800 W over more surface than a 150 kW/m² equivalent, so the sheath runs cooler, scale forms more slowly, and the element tends to last longer — which matters most at the high wattages.
Fit like for like. Swapping a 120 for a 150 will physically work but shortens element life in hard water.
Fitting notes
- Fit the supplied gasket — never re-use the old one.
- Clean the flange face back to bare metal and clear any calcification.
- Pull the bolts up evenly in a cross pattern. Do not over-tighten.
- Check the circuit and tariff support 4800 W before going up from a lower wattage — that is an electrician's call.
