Replacement Solar Hot Water 2.5m Roof Sensor to suit Chromagen
Chromagen refer to this part as the Geros SHW Collector Sensor (Hot). If that is the name on your invoice, quote or service report, this is the sensor you need.
“Collector” means the panel on the roof, and “Hot” refers to the hot side of the circuit — so this is the roof sensor, not the tank sensor.
Roof sensor or tank sensor?
If you need the tank sensor for a Chromagen system, you want the Chromagen Tank Sensor instead.
The two are not interchangeable. Roof sensors are made from high temperature silicone cable and are rated two to three times higher than tank sensors, which are normally PVC and rated to around 90°C. Fitting a tank sensor on the roof will fail.
Before you order
If you are replacing the roof sensor, check the circulating pump at the same time. A pump motor that runs is not proof that water is circulating, and poor circulation will damage a new roof sensor.
