The best way to fix this system and get maximum gain from the solar, is to have your electrician install an external GPO on a different circuit and install a new Senztek 1-2 Controller which will separate the booster from the solar.

The Saxon 400 litre split solar hot water system or the Solar Power SP400 solar hot water system is a low pressure closed loop solar hot water system, so it requires a slightly larger pump such as the Wilo Varios Pico 15/1-7.
This system has an unusual set-up where the electrical circuit controlling the element, also controls the solar controller. Because of this, there is no real way of separating your solar components from the electrical hot water boost to know if you solar system is actually working.
